How do you take the ‘stuff’ that life throws your way and turn it into smiles instead of sobbing?

In an attempt try to reduce stress levels and manage disappointments of everyday life, we must try to take note of the positive things no matter how small, in order to relish in good experiences and create a sense of balance which will benefit our mental health and well-being.
I personally am facing some tough circumstances, due to my chronic illnesses, and trying to deal with all the obstacles and postponed surgeries. Due to Covid 19 I have found my self seeking therapy and counselling once again.
My therapist suggested that I should start a gratitude journal and attempt to write 3 positive things each day, as a way to pause and reflect on the little things or big things.
Especially when things ahead are looking seemingly bleak and I start to fill overwhelmingly hopeless, I try to note down very very simple things and am putting no pressure on my self to do it everyday. Perhaps every other day but as long as I am taking 5min during the day to write some things down, I am taking little steps towards the light instead of letting my dark thoughts swallow me whole.
So my dear flowers...
I have created a Gratitude template, I have shared with you what I am grateful for today and invite you to fill out to aid you on your journey x
